Philips Philicorda Service:

This unit came in rather dirty, but was working, it just needed a service mainly because many keys were either not working or not playing all their respective octaves.

The pots were all extremely scratchy as well.

Its all been sorted and sounding perfect again.

Some of the issues we found that required repairs are shown below:

keybed before cleaning — philicorda keybed before cleaning

bent keystop — a bent keystop causing bad action

key stop after repair — repaired keystop

grime on knobs2 — dirty knobs that required cleaning along with the potentiometers

grime on knobs1 — dirty knobs that required cleaning along with the potentiometers

dust buildup behind knobs — dust from 50 years behind the knobs

foam degredation getting into buttons — this foam crumbles like icing sugar when touched. was getting into the switches

filthy keys — keys in need of a good clean

dust layers of philicorda osc board — dust buildup on the transistor oscillator boards

dust buildup on keys — key contacts completely filthy

dirty buss bars — dirty buss bar with a bent contact

bent earthing contact — another bent contact shorting to ground permanently

cleaned keys back on — cleaned and reassembled
