Acoustic Pinboard Tiles provide a dual-purpose solution for educational environments, combining structural sound absorption with a functional, pin-receptive display surface. Specifically engineered for busy classrooms, nurseries, and corridors, these tiles help combat the high background noise levels that compromise speech intelligibility and hinder learning for both mainstream and hearing-impaired students.

Acoustic Performance & BB93 Compliance

These panels are designed to assist schools in achieving compliance with Building Bulletin 93 (BB93) acoustic standards for internal school designs. When surface-mounted directly to walls, performance scales by panel thickness:

• 24mm Thickness (Class C Absorber): Delivers robust mid-to-high frequency dampening, reaching 1.00 full absorption efficiency from 1kHz upwards, with a significant 0.75 coefficient at 500Hz.
• 12mm Thickness (Class D Absorber): Provides a slimmer profile optimized for high-frequency control, hitting a 1.00 coefficient at 4kHz and 0.95 at 2kHz.

Please Note: Although these tiles can be used as pinboards their acoustic absorption will reduce if they are covered, especially if the paper is thick or multi-layered.
