Acoustic plasterboard is designed for use in applications where superior sound insulation and noise reduction is required over and above that achieved by using standard grade plasterboard. Its higher density helps block sound energy enhancing acoustic performance.
Acoustic plasterboard alone is not enough to effectively soundproof a wall or ceiling because it generally needs to be used in conjunction with other acoustic products or in a well designed complete system.
We provide a design service for calculating expected acoustic values using any rigid boarding.
We can design with timber or metal stud partitions.
Additionally we can also calculate expected improvements when incorporating acoustic mineral wool.
It complies fully with BS EN520 and is categorised as Type A,D.
Acoustic plasterboard has a thermal conductivity figure of k = 0.24W/mK
