Cleaning an SH101

As with many synthesisers screen printed like this, the ones on plastic require extreme care. Do not use any chemicals. Well they all require careful cleaning but nothing strong. I use mild soapy water for most things.

Notes:

I never use an electric screwdriver for any repairs. One of the reasons is because many screw heads are old and full of dust/debris. This needs cleaning out with a dental pick to avoid any screw head damage. Many screws also secure into plastic pillars and over-tightening them will simply snap/crack the piller. This is a typical example shown below. I do reinforce split ones with glue but once they are snapped its generally game over. Luckily the SH101 has two self tappers into the metal chassis.

She sounds wonderful now, the sub oscillator feature is so good.
