Philips Philicorda Repair

Philips Philicorda Repair

Description

Philips Philicorda Repair:

This unit came in totally non-functioning.

Once the power supply was up and running, all the other issues raised their heads.

The list of non-functioning issues was mainly as follows:

Vibrato, Reverb, Volume potentiometer, switches, internal speakers, keys, VOX3 and chords.

The other niggle was that nearly all the case screws and washers were missing, a screw holding the heavy keybed frame to the wooden case was missing and most tricky of all…the transport screw for the reverberation tank was missing. Many of the screws are half threaded which, in some cases, doesn’t matter and normal screws can be used. However, the transport screw is threaded for 20mm at the head end with the rest of the shaft being smooth and thinner diameter. This stops it catching against the reverb spring when being inserted. We had to modify a standard 70mm machine screw.

Everything has been repaired, she is fully functional now, has had a good internal and external clean and looks/sounds excellent.
