Roland CR8000 CompuRhythm Repair:
A Roland CR8000 Compurhythm Repair –
This has come in for a serious overhaul and restoration which will be fun and challenging.
Virtually all the screws were missing.
The faceplates were missing.
The wiring inside was like a spiders web and the case held together with gaffa tape.
The first step was replacing the mains switch with a brand new NOS one along with power supply electrolytics.
It did then power up but had no tempo display and most of the buttons were not working.
There were multiple broken wires on the cable looms where the cable ties were missing and wires stressed to breaking away from the boards.
Some previous repair work was redone (missing pads) in a more secure and tidy fashion to one of the JST headers.
The tempo display was fixed as were all the dead switches.
The rear sync IN/OUT switch was broken so that needed sorting out so she would trigger.
The rust on the chassis was treated.
The audio connectors were cleaned.
