Roland D20 repair.
A Roland D20 Repair – This unit was in dire need of a clean, service as well as the repair of a few issues including replacement memory battery and dead keys.
There were keys not triggering and the dreaded red glue syndrome was allegedly already already done. However, upon inspection it was clear that two keys were still leaking it out causing further damage.
The unit had also been in the vicinity of black spray paint so had a light dusting everywhere including over the LCD display, keybed and chassis. The customer also asked for the stickers to be removed.
The internal rust was treated, red glue issue removed, faulty key contacts repaired, new battery installed and all the spray paint residue was removed.
She may not be as good as a D50 but is now certainly more presentable and with new PSU capacitors and further works should be good for many years to come.
