Roland SDE2000 Repair:

A dead on arrival Roland SDE2000 repair.

Faults:

  • Not turning on.

Works Done:

  • Complete PSU refurbish.
  • Faulty components in the power section replaced.
  • All N/P caps in audio path replaced.
  • All Roland capacitor adhesive removed and repairs carried out due to corrosion.
  • A new LED bargraph was installed.

After calibration it was sounding extremely good, a warm tone with a very low noise floor.

These units are tricky to re-assemble. The front panel is easy to get off but requires careful re-alignment of the LED’s to be able to sit flush again. Be careful not to break their legs doing this.
