Description
Noise Refuge | Sound Haven | Soundproof cabin
Noise Refuges (also known as noise cabins, soundproof cabin, or sound havens) are self-supporting modular enclosures engineered to shield workers from extreme industrial machinery noise and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Sound Reduction Index (Rw): A single-number rating system that measures how much airborne sound a building material or structure blocks
These are modular and offer simple self assembly onsite. - Acoustic Absorption Coefficient (αw): A value scale from 0 to 1 that indicates how much sound energy a material absorbs; 1.00 represents total absorption.
Key Benefits & Design Features
- Modular Assembly: Designed for rapid onsite self-assembly using interlocking components based on a standard 450mm wide main panel footprint.
- High Internal Comfort: The inner walls feature perforated steel that pulls sound waves inside the panels, eliminating internal echoes and driving down ambient noise levels.
- Full Customisation: Available with integrated acoustic doors, inspection windows, and silenced ventilation systems as required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Built to satisfy health observation protocols for noise-exposed workers in reference to ISO 6189:1983.

| Standard Dimensions | 1350 x 1350 x 2160 mm 2700 x 2700 x 2160 mm (Custom sizes available) |
| Exterior Build | 1mm flat lacquered steel plate |
| Internal Infill | Dense mineral fibre with protective black tissue facing |
| Internal build | 0.5mm multi-perforated steel plate |
| Standard finish | Industrial Grey (Similar to RAL 9002) |
| Acoustic Test Certification | APPLUS No. 06/3230085 |
Structural Framework Requirements
While the AC80 modular panels are inherently self-supporting, larger configurations require an internal steel support frame to carry the roof load and reinforce the walls especially if silencers or additional hardware is required.
- Indoor Factory Environments: Internal steel supports are generally unnecessary unless the total dimensions exceed 4m (Width) x 6m (Length) x 4m (Height)
Accessories
- Acoustic vision panels
- Acoustic doors (single or double leaf)
- Silencers
