Installation
Due to the weight it is advisable to either include for a metal ‘pre-frame’ or make sure that a timber framed opening is substantial enough, in the partition, to take the weight (220kg for a small single). generally these doors are best installed in a block type partition as timber framed ones may well not be strong enough.
Always move the RS9 assembly closed and complete. Do not remove the leaf. Shim the door in the opening until it is level. Spot weld (or drill and screw) the door to the pre-frame checking vertical and horizontal leveling using a laser. If requested we can supply pre-drilled frame holes and plugs. For timber, once the assembly is aligned and secured carefully remove the leaf to allow for frame fixing. This needs to be done with great care.
All gaps around the frame need to be fully sealed, to the depth of the frame, with a suitable acoustic material.
